About the Role We are seeking an experienced
Construction Superintendent specializing in
heavy civil infrastructure with a strong background in
sewer and water projects. The ideal candidate has completed at least one full project in Canada and brings extensive leadership experience to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and according to engineering and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities - Oversee all on-site construction operations for sewer, water, and heavy civil infrastructure projects.
- Provide leadership and supervision to site crews, subcontractors, and foremen to maintain productivity and quality.
- Ensure all work complies with project plans, specifications, municipal standards, and Canadian construction regulations.
- Conduct daily site walkthroughs, progress updates, and quality assurance inspections.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment to maintain project schedules and minimize delays.
- Enforce safety protocols and environmental regulations, ensuring a culture of safe work practices.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Inspectors to resolve challenges and maintain project momentum.
- Prepare and maintain daily logs, incident reports, progress reports, and other project documentation.
- Support project planning activities, including forecasting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders, including clients, utility providers, municipal representatives, and subcontractors.
Qualifications - 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Proven experience working on sewer and water infrastructure projects.
- Must have successfully completed at least one full project in Canada.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian construction regulations, OH&S standards, and municipal requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, utility plans, and technical documentation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
