Senior Water Resources Engineer on behalf of a leading engineering consultancy in Vancouver, BC. This firm specializes in delivering innovative water management solutions for industrial, municipal, and environmental projects.
Role Overview: The Senior Water Resources Engineer will lead the design and implementation of surface water control systems, stormwater management plans, and hydrological assessments. This role involves technical leadership, project management, client engagement, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead surface water control design, including stormwater management, flood mitigation, and erosion control.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modelling for water management projects.
- Develop watershed management plans and regulatory compliance strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on industrial, municipal, and environmental projects.
- Conduct site assessments, oversee field investigations, and provide technical recommendations.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering.
- P.Eng. designation in BC (or eligibility for registration).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in water resources engineering, with a focus on surface water controls.
- Strong knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater management best practices.
- Proficiency in modeling software such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, MIKE SHE, or similar.
- Experience with regulatory permitting and environmental compliance.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
