About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join a growing engineering and environmental consulting team in Toronto. This role will provide technical leadership, project delivery, and mentorship across a range of municipal, infrastructure, and land development projects.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality water resources solutions and supporting the continued growth of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Project Delivery
- Lead and deliver water resources and hydrotechnical projects from concept through detailed design.
- Manage projects related to:
- Stormwater management
- Floodplain and flood risk studies
- Watershed and subwatershed planning
- Hydraulic and hydrologic modelling
- Low Impact Development (LID) design
- Climate change resilience and infrastructure adaptation
- Prepare and review technical reports, design briefs, and regulatory submissions.
- Act as Engineer of Record on select projects.
Modelling & Analysis
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modelling using tools such as:
- PCSWMM / SWMM
- HEC-RAS / HEC-HMS
- InfoWorks ICM
- Visual OTTHYMO
- Perform floodplain mapping, drainage design, and erosion assessments.
Client & Regulatory Engagement
- Liaise with municipalities, conservation authorities, and regulatory agencies.
- Support development approvals and environmental permitting.
- Participate in proposals, business development, and client relationship management.
Team Leadership
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers.
- Provide QA/QC and technical oversight.
- Support growth of the water resources team.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering.
- P.Eng. designation in Ontario (PEO).
- Typically 8–15+ years of consulting or municipal experience.
- Strong experience with Ontario regulatory frameworks and development approvals.
- Proven project management and client-facing experience.
Preferred / Assets
- Master’s degree in Water Resources, Hydrology, or related discipline.
- Experience with conservation authority approvals and municipal standards.
- Proposal writing and business development experience.
- Leadership or team management experience.
