Job title - Senior Resource Geologist

Compensation range - $125,000 – $135,000 USD
On behalf of a leading mining client, Skyline Recruitment is supporting the hire of a Senior Resource Geologist for a major gold project in the United States. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing technical team on one of the most exciting mining operations in North America.
The Opportunity
This is a senior-level technical role focused on resource modelling, estimation, and reporting, with strong exposure to operations, mine planning, and technical studies.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, fit-for-purpose resource models and contributing to critical business decisions across the life of mine.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and validate geological and block models to support resource estimation
- Contribute to and improve resource estimation workflows and best practices
- Review and interpret geological data, QA/QC processes, and database integrity
- Support resource and reserve reporting in line with industry standards (NI 43-101 / SK-1300)
- Collaborate with mine planning, operations, and technical teams to ensure alignment across the value chain
- Perform model validation and reconciliation to improve model performance
- Prepare and present technical reports and resource estimates to internal stakeholders
- Mentor and support junior geologists and contribute to team development
Qualifications & Experience
- Ideally 5+ years of mine geology experience within an operating environment
- Ideally 2+ years of hands-on experience in resource modelling and domain estimation
- 10+ years of total experience in geology, with a strong focus on resource work
- Strong background in resource estimation, block modelling, and geological interpretation
Preferred:
- MSc in Geology, Geostatistics, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency in Leapfrog or similar 3D modelling software
- Candidates without advanced degrees are still encouraged if they can demonstrate a strong portfolio of modelling and estimation experience
