We are seeking a
Senior Marine Structural Engineer to join a collaborative engineering consultancy in
Vancouver with a strong reputation in
port infrastructure and marine terminals. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced structural engineer to
lead complex marine and waterfront projects from concept to construction.
Key Responsibilities - Lead the structural design of marine infrastructure including wharves, piers, jetties, dolphins, caissons, and bulkheads
- Provide technical leadership and coordinate with civil, geotechnical, and coastal engineering teams
- Conduct structural analysis and design using applicable codes (CSA, AASHTO, API, etc.) for both steel and concrete marine structures
- Deliver and review design drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Oversee site inspections, condition assessments, and construction support services
- Engage directly with clients, contractors, and permitting authorities
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and drafters
Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- P.Eng. designation in BC (or eligibility to obtain)
- 10+ years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on marine or waterfront infrastructure
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, RISA, S-Frame, STAAD)
- Familiarity with seismic design and coastal/marine environmental loading
- Strong knowledge of design codes and construction practices in marine environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
