Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Northern Ontario Salary: $120K – $150K (Dependent on Experience)

About the Opportunity: We are seeking a
Senior Engineer specializing in
Geotechnical Engineering to take on a leadership role in
major mining, hydropower, and infrastructure projects across
Northern Ontario.
This position offers the opportunity to work on
high-profile projects, lead
multidisciplinary teams, and provide
technical expertise and strategic guidance. The successful candidate will be responsible for
project management, geotechnical design, client interactions, and mentoring junior and intermediate engineers.
Qualifications & Requirements: - Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Geological or Civil Engineering.
- P.Eng. designation with PEO (or eligibility for registration).
- 10+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, mining, hydropower, and/or infrastructure development.
- Expertise in tailings dam design, foundation engineering, slope stability, and ground improvement techniques.
- Proven leadership in project management, client engagement, and team development.
- Experience with regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, and risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and oversee geotechnical, hydrogeological, and civil engineering projects from concept to completion.
- Conduct complex geotechnical analysis, modeling, and design for mining and infrastructure projects.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships, ensuring successful project delivery.
- Develop and review technical reports, proposals, and engineering recommendations.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior and intermediate engineers.
- Oversee construction site inspections, ensuring quality control and adherence to engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and clients.
Projects & Areas of Focus: - Tailings dams and mine infrastructure.
- Geotechnical support for underground and open-pit mining operations.
- Water-retaining structures, hydropower facilities, and pipeline projects.
- Infrastructure development, foundation engineering, and soil stabilization.
