About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Senior Financial Accountant to join our client's team in downtown Vancouver. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this individual will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and contributing to strategic financial initiatives. This is a full-time, in-office position, ideal for a CPA-designated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE or IFRS
- Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and liaising with auditors
- Manage journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, and bank reconciliations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely financial reporting and budget tracking
- Assist with process improvements, internal controls, and the implementation of best practices
- Lead or mentor junior accountants (prior people management experience is an asset)
- Prepare tax filings, remittances, and other regulatory reporting as required
- Contribute to ad hoc financial projects and reporting requests from senior leadership
Qualifications: - CPA designation is required
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a corporate environment
- Prior experience with direct reports or mentorship responsibilities is a strong asset
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or Dynamics) preferred
- Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
