Job Title: Senior Hydrogeologist / Environmental Leader (Director Track)
Location: Ottawa, ON (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Compensation:$130,000 – $150,000 base salary, depending on experience, with additional bonus and benefits.
The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established environmental and engineering consultancy seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist / Environmental Leader to join their Ottawa team.
This is a high-impact role with a clear pathway into a Director-level leadership position, supporting succession planning and long-term growth across Ontario and nationally.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the direction of the Site Assessment & Remediation practice, contributing both technically and strategically while working closely with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior technical leadership across hydrogeology, environmental site assessment (ESA), and remediation projects
- Act as a technical authority and reviewer on complex projects
- Support and lead project delivery, including planning, execution, and client communication
- Mentor and develop junior and intermediate staff
- Contribute to business development, including proposals, client relationship management, and strategic growth initiatives
- Collaborate with leadership on operational planning and team development
- Support the long-term growth and positioning of the environmental practice across Ontario
Qualifications & Experience
- 15–25+ years of experience in hydrogeology, environmental consulting, or related fields
- Strong background in groundwater, ESAs, and remediation
- Demonstrated experience in technical leadership and project oversight
- Experience with client management and/or business development is highly valued
- Professional designation (P.Geo. or P.Eng.) in Ontario
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to operate at both a technical and strategic level
