Senior Electrical Engineer – Heavy Industrial Projects

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer on behalf of a leading engineering consultancy in Vancouver, BC. This firm specializes in delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions for heavy industrial projects, offering a collaborative and growth-focused environment.
Role Overview:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design and development of electrical systems for large-scale heavy industrial projects, including mining, oil & gas, power generation, and manufacturing facilities. This role involves technical leadership, project management, client interaction, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical design for heavy industrial projects, including power distribution, motor control, and substation design.
• Oversee high-voltage systems, automation, instrumentation, and process control.
• Perform load calculations, fault analysis, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
• Collaborate with mechanical, structural, and process engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
• Conduct site inspections, commissioning, and provide technical support during construction.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and EITs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• P.Eng. designation in BC (or eligibility for registration).
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering design, with a focus on heavy industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, IEEE, NEC, and industry-specific standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, and electrical design software.
• Experience with PLCs, SCADA, and industrial automation is an asset.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
