Role - Senior Construction Inspector

Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to join our team. The Senior Inspector will be responsible for overseeing construction activities, ensuring adherence to design standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements across various projects.
Key Responsibilities: - Conduct thorough inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with design standards, specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Monitor workmanship and quality of materials used in construction projects.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, occupational health, and safety regulations on construction sites.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior inspectors and construction teams.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve construction-related issues.
- Conduct final inspections and prepare reports for project completion and acceptance.
Requirements: - Certified by OACETT for the Road Construction Senior Inspector (RCSI) designation.
- Specialization in Asphalt, Grade, Structures, or Structural inspection preferred.
- Demonstrated experience as a Senior Inspector on three (3) or more MTO or municipal projects, or equivalent. The candidate must have served as Senior Inspector for a minimum of four (4) consecutive months on each project. Specific project details, including dates and durations of employment, must be outlined in the candidate's resume.
Skills and Competencies: - Solid understanding of design standards, construction specifications, and materials used in civil engineering projects.
- Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations governing construction practices, including environmental and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve construction issues.
- Effective communication skills to interact with project teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools, equipment, and software applications.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Location: This position is based in Northern Ontario, with travel required to project sites across the region.
