Senior Civil Engineer – Dam Safety
Location: Vancouver, BC

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer on behalf of a leading engineering consultancy in Vancouver, BC. This firm specializes in delivering innovative civil engineering solutions for dam safety, offering a dynamic and growth-focused environment.
Role Overview:
The Senior Civil Engineer will lead the design, analysis, and assessment of dam infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices. This role involves technical leadership, project management, client engagement, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead engineering assessments and safety evaluations of dams and hydraulic structures.
• Conduct risk analysis, structural evaluations, and hydrological assessments.
• Develop rehabilitation and upgrade plans for existing dam structures.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale water resource projects.
• Oversee field investigations, perform construction oversight, and provide technical recommendations.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• P.Eng. designation in BC (or eligibility for registration).
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on dam safety and hydraulic structures.
• Strong knowledge of structural integrity assessments, geotechnical principles, and hydrology.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, and GIS tools.
• Experience with regulatory permitting and compliance related to dam safety.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
