Role Overview: As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accounting and tax compliance engagements, ensuring adherence to budget, time frame, and quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to engage directly with clients, participate in meetings, and contribute to their business strategy and decision-making processes. In addition to providing quality service to meet clients' goals and needs efficiently, this role involves leadership responsibilities, including supporting junior staff in their professional and technical development.
Key Responsibilities: - Engage directly with clients and partners on various engagements, fostering strong relationships and understanding client needs.
- Analyze and review financial information to provide accurate insights and recommendations.
- Prepare working papers and corporate tax returns for review by managers or partners, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Serve as a senior member of assurance teams, participating in audit and review engagements to ensure thoroughness and quality.
- Complete personal tax and other returns for clients, demonstrating proficiency in tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Participate in tax return pools for at least one of the following: T1, T3, and T4 forms.
- Provide leadership to First and Second Year CPA Students, both in the office and on client sites, supporting their development and growth.
Qualifications: - Minimum of 4 years of experience in public practice accounting, including compilation, review, audit, and corporate and personal tax preparation.
- Bachelor of Commerce/Business Administration in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
- CPA designation.
- Proficiency in CaseWare, Tax Prep, and MS Office applications.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey concepts and services effectively to clients.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop positive rapport and relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, capable of handling both numerical data and conceptual information.
- Solid understanding of audit, assurance, and tax standards, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all engagements.

Compensation:
CA$85,000/yr - CA$115,000/yr
4 weeks vacation
