Skyline Recruitment, working on behalf of our esteemed client, is seeking a
Risk Assessment Team Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 10 staff, comprising technical and professional staff at various levels of development. They will support management in promoting collaboration within the Environmental Practice and across other Technical Practices, ensuring effective resource sharing and workload/resource balancing.
The role includes providing operational leadership to the practice, allocating risk assessors and toxicologists to projects, managing or providing senior technical direction on risk assessment projects, and supporting the technical development of staff for effective project execution.
This is a hybrid role based anywhere in one of our clients offices across Canada.
The successful candidate will bring well-developed leadership skills to provide senior-level technical direction and mentoring, strong client management capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with other Team Leads to contribute to key management initiatives.
Your role will include:
- Supervising and mentoring a team of environmental professionals across multiple regions.
- Understanding client objectives, technical protocols, guidelines, and applicable regulations.
- Serving as a direct interface between clients, project teams, and regulatory bodies.
- Managing projects, including program development, personnel/resource management, budgeting, scheduling, quality assurance, and ensuring client objectives are met.
- Growing group revenue from existing client relationships and developing new business.
- Identifying and managing project quality and profitability risks.
- Ensuring adherence to quality assurance programs, corporate policies, and safety protocols.
- Other duties as required.

The Ideal Candidate will have:
- University Degree, Master’s, or PhD (preferred fields: Biology, Chemistry, Toxicology or related discipline).
- 15+ years of experience, with 5 years spent mentoring and/or managing staff.
- 15 years’ experience in risk assessment and a professional designation or experience in Canada’s provincial and federal risk assessment frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate staff at different levels of career development.
- Strong communication, organizational, and technical writing skills.
- Commitment to quality control and attention to detail.
