Senior Environmental Professional (QP (ESA))

The Opportunity:
Our clients — a mix of well-established environmental consulting firms and growing multidisciplinary organizations — are seeking experienced Qualified Persons (ESA) to support and lead contaminated sites, brownfield redevelopment, and remediation portfolios across Ontario.
We are actively hiring for several senior and leadership-level roles, ranging from Senior Project Manager to Regional Practice Lead positions. These opportunities offer strong technical engagement, mentorship responsibilities, and business development exposure, with flexible working models including hybrid and remote options depending on location.
Key Responsibilities:
Depending on seniority and role scope, responsibilities may include:
- Acting as a Qualified Person (QP) under Ontario Regulation 153/04 for Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and Record of Site Condition (RSC) filings
- Leading contaminated site assessments, soil and groundwater delineation programs, and remediation projects
- Preparing and reviewing technical reports, conceptual site models (CSMs), and risk-based recommendations
- Overseeing field programs including drilling, monitoring well installation, groundwater sampling, and remedial system implementation
- Providing technical oversight and peer review of assessment and remediation deliverables
- Managing project budgets, timelines, and client communications
- Mentoring junior and intermediate environmental professionals
- Supporting or leading business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and client relationship management
- Ensuring compliance with applicable Ontario regulations including O.Reg. 153/04 and O.Reg. 406/19 (Excess Soils), where applicable
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, Earth Sciences, Hydrogeology, or related discipline
- Professional designation (P.Eng. or P.Geo.) in Ontario
- Qualified Person (QP) status under Ontario Regulation 153/04
- Minimum 10/15+ years of relevant experience in contaminated site assessment and remediation
- Demonstrated experience in Phase I & II ESAs and RSC filings
- Experience with soil and groundwater remediation strategies
- Strong understanding of Ontario environmental regulations and MECP guidelines
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor technical teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Business development experience considered an asset for leadership-level roles
