Field / Project Engineer – Hydroelectric Dam Projects
Location: Campbell River, Vancouver Island, British Columbia (Ladore Dam / John Hart Dam)
Salary: $85,000–$110,000 + Benefits + RRSP Matching

Position Summary:
We are seeking motivated Field / Project Engineers to join a leading civil contractor on major hydroelectric dam projects on Vancouver Island. This role is ideal for candidates with a solid engineering background who are looking to develop their careers on large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting both the technical and administrative functions of the project, working closely with the site and project management teams to ensure efficient, high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Manage document control processes, including submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports)
• Support the execution of dam construction and associated civil works, applying engineering principles on-site
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
• Track project progress and assist with reporting, scheduling, and cost control
• Identify and resolve technical and site-related issues proactively
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and compliance across all activities
Qualifications & Experience:
• Engineering degree in Civil or related discipline
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Field Engineer or Project Engineer
• Previous experience working for a General Contractor (GC) is essential
• Experience on civil infrastructure or hydro/dam projects is considered an asset
• Strong understanding of construction processes, documentation, and project coordination
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
Compensation & Benefits:
• Salary: $85,000–$110,000 (dependent on experience)
• Vacation: 4 weeks
• Benefits: Co-paid, effective day one
• Relocation: $3,000 over 3 months (if relocating)
