Skyline Recruitment is sourcing a Project Director for a Toronto-area builder to oversee their high-rise project management teams.
This is a senior leadership role for someone who has already delivered complex high-rise projects and is ready to operate above the individual project level.
The right person will mentor Senior Project Managers, work closely with field operations, protect margin, support pursuits, manage escalated client issues, and bring structure across reporting, forecasting, staffing, and project delivery.
What We’re Looking For
- Over two decades of project management experience in high-rise residential or commercial builds,
- Proven experience leading detailed and complicated high-rise projects,
- Strong background with mid-large size GC, CM, builder, or developer-builder environments,
- Experience overseeing multiple project teams, not just managing one project,
- Strong understanding of contracts, client obligations, risk, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, procurement, and project reporting,
- Ability to mentor, coach, and hold Senior Project Managers accountable,
- Strong client-facing presence with the ability to manage escalated issues, disputes, consultants, owners, and subcontractors,
- Strong financial acumen with experience reviewing budgets, monthly billings, cost reports, projections, and profit/loss performance,
- Ability to work closely with field operations and make project decisions collaboratively,
- Experience supporting pursuits, proposals, tendering, and preconstruction strategy,
- Able to build consistent project management systems, reporting standards, onboarding processes, and execution plans across teams,
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to attract, identify, develop, and retain high-performing construction talent,
- Post-secondary education in construction, engineering, architecture, or a related field is required.
