Skyline Recruitment is working on behalf of a well-established engineering consulting firm to hire a
full-time Intermediate Mechanical Engineer for their team in
Thunder Bay, Ontario. This is a permanent, office-based role with
relocation assistance available for the right candidate.
The firm delivers small to mid-sized engineering projects across Canada in sectors such as mining, municipal utilities, and industrial infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring technical depth, project coordination skills, and a strong desire to grow within a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities - Lead or contribute to mechanical design and engineering across various project phases, including feasibility, detailed design, and construction support
- Prepare specifications, technical reports, and engineering drawings
- Design systems such as HVAC, plumbing, pumping, piping, bulk material handling, and general mechanical components
- Integrate mechanical design with 3D models and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams
- Conduct site assessments and support procurement, installation, and commissioning activities
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality and safety standards are upheld
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in consulting or industrial projects
- Registered (or eligible for registration) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, or similar CAD tools
- Experience in sectors such as mining, utilities, or process facilities is an asset
- Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Must be located in or willing to relocate to Thunder Bay (relocation support provided)
