Our client is seeking a dedicated
Geotechnical Field Investigation Technician with a minimum of three years of relevant field experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting field investigations, soil and rock sampling, and data collection to support geotechnical engineering assessments. This role requires hands-on experience in geotechnical drilling, field logging, and material testing, along with a commitment to safety and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform field investigations, including soil and rock sampling, borehole logging, and in-situ testing.
- Conduct field tests such as Standard Penetration Tests (SPT), Permeability Tests, and Cone Penetration Tests (CPT).
- Collect and analyze soil, rock, and groundwater samples for laboratory testing.
- Prepare and maintain detailed field logs, records, and reports of investigation findings.
- Work closely with geotechnical engineers to interpret data and provide insights for project designs.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations on all field sites.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, utility locators, and other team members during investigations.
- Participate in laboratory testing and data analysis, as required.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports and project documentation.
Qualifications: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in geotechnical field investigations.
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical testing methods and standards.
- Experience with borehole drilling, logging, and sampling techniques.
- Familiarity with geotechnical equipment, including drilling rigs and field testing devices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and thorough documentation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various job sites.
- Certification in health and safety protocols like First Aid is an asset.
