Engineering Director – Mine Reclamation & Remediation
Canada | Hybrid with Project Travel
The Opportunity
Skyline Recruitment is seeking an experienced Engineering Director to support a major mine reclamation and environmental remediation project in Canada.
The successful candidate will oversee the progression of detailed engineering work, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and help deliver practical and constructable solutions. This position will involve a combination of office-based work, project meetings, and periodic site travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate engineering design activities and consultant deliverables.
- Lead design review and project coordination meetings.
- Review designs for constructability and implementation.
- Support construction planning, scheduling, material balances, and site logistics.
- Prepare technical specifications, reports, and project documentation.
- Develop capital and operating cost estimates.
- Support equipment planning, procurement, and site infrastructure design.
- Integrate engineering details into permitting and regulatory deliverables.
- Build strong working relationships with project stakeholders and technical teams.
Qualifications
- Degree in civil, environmental, mining, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer designation in Canada, or eligibility to obtain the required registration.
- Seven or more years of relevant experience in mine reclamation, remediation, civil engineering, construction, mining, or major industrial projects.
- Strong project management, technical writing, and communication skills.
- Experience coordinating consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to travel periodically for project meetings and site visits.
Experience with permitting, AutoCAD, and technical software such as Deswik, Vulcan, MineSight, or Leapfrog would be considered an asset.
