Job Title: Civil Project Superintendent Location: Fraser Valley
Job Description: On behalf of our client, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Project Superintendent to join their dynamic team in the Fraser Valley. The ideal candidate is a positive, outgoing individual who enjoys working outdoors and is willing to work overtime when required.
Responsibilities: - Leadership & Management:
- Report directly to the Operations Manager.
- Serve as the primary on-site representative, managing client, public, labor, and subcontractor relationships.
- Provide daily leadership and direction for civil construction projects.
- Lead day-to-day on-site activities and ensure all work adheres to contract requirements and specifications.
- Project Implementation:
- Execute project plans, including site safety, quality, environmental, and traffic management plans.
- Schedule, plan, and allocate resources to ensure project plans are followed.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
- Operational Coordination:
- Advise the Operations Manager on any changed conditions encountered on-site and suggest appropriate actions.
- Coordinate equipment servicing and repairs with mechanical operations.
- Follow collective agreement requirements and coordinate with union business agents.
- Continuously optimize all works to enhance safety, profitability, and quality.
Qualifications and Skills: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry.
- At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Over 3 years of experience working in a unionized environment.
- Expert knowledge of excavation, shoring practices, underground utilities, and road construction.
- Strong understanding of construction industry business operations, including cost management processes, cost estimations, and contract adherence.
- Ability to interpret construction and engineering documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise with clients and management.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting a safety-first culture.
