Surrey, BC, to hire a full-time
Accounts Payable Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and dependable accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced construction environment and is looking for
long-term stability in an AP-focused role.
This position is best suited to someone who is
happy to specialize in accounts payable and is not seeking a path into broader finance or accounting functions. A strong

What You’ll Be Doing: As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of AP, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong vendor relationships. You’ll work closely with the accounting team, project managers, and external suppliers to keep everything running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.
- Match purchase orders, delivery receipts, and invoices for approval.
- Handle payment runs (cheques, EFTs), ensuring timely payments.
- Maintain accurate AP records and vendor files.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
- Reconcile vendor statements and assist with month-end close processes.
- Track lien waivers, statutory declarations, and other project-related documentation.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure job cost accuracy and compliance.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience in full-cycle accounts payable, preferably in the construction or development industry.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Friendly, team-oriented personality and strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
- Proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow through on tasks independently.
- Must be seeking a long-term role in accounts payable—this position does not offer advancement into broader finance or accounting roles.
